This facility In Huntingburg, IN closed in 2007 and until recently sat vacant. Over time the roof structure leaked causing the existing fireproofing to lose adhesion and began to fall off the structural members. The original fireproofing was installed back in the 1980’s.
After the roof membrane was replaced, the original fireproofing was tested for asbestos. Superior Insealator’s was tasked with removing any existing damaged fireproofing and bringing roof deck and structural members back to their original fire rating. All loose fireproofing was removed, metal lath installed, and new fireproofing applied to applicable thickness to bring the structure back to its original fire rating.
